Education for life, in partnership with families.
THE HEART OF NOCALLI

Childhood deserves
our deepest respect.

Our work begins with a simple conviction: children are capable, curious, and ready to learn from the world around them.

THE MONTESSORI APPROACH

An environment that
honors the child.

At the heart of Montessori education is the understanding that children construct themselves through purposeful activity within a carefully prepared environment. The Guide observes each child, introduces materials according to their developmental needs, and supports their growing independence.

In our mixed-age environment, children are given the freedom to choose meaningful work within established limits. Through repetition, concentration, movement, and hands-on exploration, they develop coordination, self-discipline, independence, and a deeper understanding of the world around them.

OUR GUIDING PRINCIPLES

Thoughtful by design.

01

Observation guides our practice.

Through careful observation, the Guide comes to understand each child’s developmental needs, interests, and readiness, informing presentations and preparation of the environment.

02

Freedom with responsibility.

Children make meaningful choices within an environment designed with clear limits and respect for others.

03

Independence through practice.

Repetition, movement, and care of the environment build lasting confidence.

04

Language woven into daily life.

Spanish and English are integrated naturally through conversations, lessons, songs, stories, and everyday interactions in the prepared environment.

OUR GUIDE'S PREPARATION

Guided by AMI principles

At Nocalli Montessori, our educational approach is grounded in the principles established by Dr. Maria Montessori and carried forward by the Association Montessori Internationale (AMI), founded by Dr. Montessori in 1929.

Our program is led by an AMI-trained Primary Guide whose preparation includes child development, careful observation, the prepared environment, and the presentation of Montessori materials. This preparation informs how we observe children, prepare the environment, offer individual lessons, and support each child’s development.

“Help me to do it by myself.”
